Executive summits, live streaming, stage lighting and graphics at The Blackstone on South Michigan Avenue. We’ve produced here and travel our own crew and gear to Chicago.
For the IWPR Power Summit we produced the full general session at The Blackstone: stage and lighting design, speaker panel audio, on-screen graphics and a live stream for the remote audience.
What we ran: Summit staging, lighting, graphics and live stream.
The Blackstone, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, is a historic hotel on South Michigan Avenue facing Grant Park. Its ballrooms and meeting rooms host summits, conferences and galas in the South Loop.
Planning AV at The Blackstone
What we tell planners before an event here. Venue rules change, so we confirm the details for your date.
01
You can usually bring your own AV
Chicago hotels have in-house AV partners, but outside AV is commonly allowed. Send us the hotel’s quote and we’ll show you what the same show costs with us.
02
Check rigging and power rules
Historic ballrooms often limit what can hang from the ceiling. We plan ground-supported lighting and screens when needed and get specs from the hotel.
03
Ask about Chicago labor rules
Some Chicago venues have labor or union requirements for certain work. We ask the hotel up front and include any required labor in one clear quote.
04
Book a hardwired line for streaming
Hotel guest Wi-Fi isn’t built for a live stream. Order a dedicated wired connection and we’ll tell the hotel exactly what we need.
Got an AV quote from The Blackstone?
Send it to us. We’ll show you what the same show costs with our crew, line by line.
Usually, yes. Like most Chicago hotels, it has an in-house AV partner, but outside AV vendors are commonly allowed, sometimes with patch, power or rigging fees. We confirm the policy for your event and include any fees in one quote.
We travel our own crew and gear from metro Detroit to Chicago regularly. Travel is quoted openly as its own line, and it’s often still less than the hotel’s in-house AV quote.
